The Rules of the Game

One of my friends shared this acronym with me:

F-Fruits and Veggies
O-Only Lean Protein
O-Omega 3 Fats (Substitute olive oil for butter, fish like salmon for fatty red meat)
D-Drink water!!

I think that's a pretty fun and easy way to remember the better choices. The other terms of the challenge are as follows:
  • No chocolate (including creamer, powder, candy, and milk)
  • No candy
  • No biscuits or cookies
  • No cake, donuts, or muffins
  • No pastries
  • No white bread (no white anything, if there is a substitute)
  • No chips (Veggie, apple, sweet potato, or other)
  • No fast food
  • No nutella, mayo, sugary jam, or other "bad spreads" (natural peanut butter is allowed)
  • No ice cream *this is going to be the hardest for me!!!
  •  No carbonated beverages
  • No artificial sweeteners and coloring
  • No processed food
It looks pretty extensive, but so far it hasn't been too bad.  And having a roommate that is on the same page is a tremendous help!
