Nail Time: Gray's Anatomy

I am a sucker for products with cute and catchy names. I'm also a big fan of the television show Grey's Anatomy. So I will admit that the name of this Wet N Wild polish (Gray's Anatomy) is what really sold me.
Since seeing a post by Fleur De Force (here...) on a polish from the Model's Own Beetlejuice line I have been so intrigued by duo chromes. I couldn't pass this one up.
With only two coats, this covers surprisingly well but the other colors you see in the bottle are lost.So I decided to use it over top of a darker shade...
...and I was very pleasantly surprised. This navy polish (Wet N Wild Shine "Blue Moon") served as a great base for this color, and got all of the hues to shine through.

As one who has a hard time spending money on nail polish, I think Wet N Wild polishes are very good quality at an affordable price. And they come up with some pretty great names. :)

Steph's Study: VS Pink Beach Bronzer

I am your typical fair-skinned, freckly, red head. I have spent a year in Florida and still have no tan to show for it. I picked up this bronzer at Victoria's Secret on a sale and thought I'd give it a try.

Applying any kind of skin pigment is an art. The first couple of times I used this I ended up with streaks and spots on my knees and around my feet. Despite my lack of skill in putting this on, it left my skin with a really nice glow. It's a nice, natural dark with just enough shine to look like I've spent lots of time in the sun. It's also really nourishing and makes my skin really soft, once it dries of course. I suggest letting it dry completely before putting on clothes that will go over top of it, as it does rub off.

My favorite thing about this product though, is that it smells fantastic. It's not your average tanner/sunscreen/coconutty scent. It smells light and flowery to me and is described as "breezy dewberry and island orchid".

I didn't realize until looking it up online that this is a limited edition product. I haven't been back to a Victoria's Secret since to see if they still have it, but I have not been able to find it on their website. If you're looking for a little bit of color and shine in a product that isn't sticky or stinky you should go pick some of this up before it's gone!!

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag!

GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty product? What is your most expensive beauty product? My most inexpensive beauty product is an LA Color, four color eyeshadow pallet that I picked up at a dollar store. My most expensive is probably my Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion kit
WRATH: What product do you have a love/hate relationship with and what product was hardest to find? I have a love/hate relationship with my Organix Pomegranate Green Tea anti-frizz serum. Depending on how I style my hair, this product either makes it sleek and soft or leaves it feeling oily and dull. The hardest to find was probably the eye cream I use, just because I had the hardest time deciding what I should buy and what would work best for me.
GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products? First one that popped into my mind was my Caress Evenly Gorgeous exfoliating body wash. It smells like brown sugar and makes my skin feel delicious!
SLOTH: What products do you neglect due to laziness? Makeup remover. Please don't come after me wielding pitch forks. I know, it's terrible. But I have a very bad habit of not washing my makeup off at night.
PRIDE: What product gives you the most confidence? Foundation (I am using Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse at the moment). I always feel much more confident if my skin is looking its best.
LUST: What attributes do you find attractive in the opposite sex? If we are talking physical attributes, I am a sucker for a pair of gorgeous eyes. I also like hands. But what's really important to me is honesty, and a sense of humor. My fiance makes me laugh like no one else and that's what first attracted me to him.

ENVY: Which products would you like to receive as a gift? The Urban Decay Naked pallet. Being a fresh-out-of-college woman on a budget, I haven't found myself able to justify shelling out $50 on eyeshadow. Or a clarisonic. I would love one of those too. :)

This was a lot of fun to do. I'd love to see your 7 deadly sins of beauty. I tag YOU!!

Nail Time!

I am a nail biter.

Luckily for me, keeping them polished seems to help curb the habit. Lately I have been all about doing my nails in an effort to grow them out and fell in love with some new polishes!

I just think this color is phenomenal. It's called I Need A Refresh-Mint by Wet n Wild megalast. I love cutesy names like this, although I think the color looks more blue than mint. It's an almost turquoise-y color that I thought was great for summer. It has a great rounded brush that is good for getting down by the cuticle. The application I thought was a little streaky but to me the color payoff was worth it. I could have gotten away with one coat of this, but I usually do two anyway like I did here. I've had this color on for about 4 days without any major chip problems and it has lasted really well.

Ignore my flip-flop tan lines for just one moment. A friend did my toes a couple of days ago. The color is petites Raspberry Rush and the decals are cute little flowers from Wal Mart. I was in need of a top coat of my own though, and this is what she used. It's NYC Long Wearing Enamel in 271, Extra Shiny Top Coat. It does give a pretty good shine to my nails, and has kept my nails nice and neat for a good amount of time!

I also bought another color but I haven't used it yet. I can't wait to see how it turns out and will for sure post about it. Stay tuned to see what it is!

Navy + Red Haul

There's something about the combination of navy and red that I just think is so classic and sophisticated. Over the past couple of weeks I have been gravitating toward these colors and have picked up a few new pieces I can't wait to show you!

First, I scored this dress:

I thought this would be really nice for my wedding rehearsal dinner. I love the halter style, and where it meets behind the neck there are three really cute gold buttons for the clasp. It falls just about to the knee and has two nice deep pockets. It is from Calvin Klein and I picked it up at Ross for $40. It came with a brown belt, but continue reading and guess what I am going to pair with it instead. :)

Next I got these pants:
I also got these from Ross ($15) and they are Dockers brand. What attracted me to them of course, was the red belt! Being so short I have a tough time finding capris that work on me, but I think these are great and can be dressed up or toned down to casual.

Finally, the shoes:

Aren't these just fantastic?! These are American Eagle from Payless ($27.99). Since I bought the navy dress and pants, I have been on the hunt for a cute, summery pair of red shoes. As you may have seen in the picture above, I couldn't wait to put the outfit together. I love wedges for the summer and I think these just add a really nice pop of color. They are pretty comfortable as well; I had them on and was walking around all day yesterday!

Thanks for letting me share my haul (and excitement) with you, and I will talk to you all soon!

Shower

What a wonderful family I have! My amazing mom, grandmas, and some other relatives put together a beautiful bridal shower for me.

The food was great, the decorations were beautiful, and most of all it was wonderful to get together with family and friends I haven't seen in months. I was so glad to have two of my fantastic bridesmaids there with me to help with everything.

The only thing that could have been better would be having the rest of my out of town bridesmaids and family, and Justin's family. It really was a wonderful day. Filling out thank-you cards was an all day process, but they are done and ready to be sent out. How blessed we are to have so many caring people in our lives!!
