While the Cat's Away...

The mouse will eat frozen yogurt for dinner.

Dear CherryBerry: You frozen, delicious beast. You are a sweet guilty pleasure that I can only enjoy when J is away. Thanks for being here with me to kick off this long weekend.

Dear Weekend: Hey you. Yeah, you. I've been waiting for you. I plan to spend you chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool and all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school. Minus the b-ball.

Dear Neighbors: WHEN did you get so loud?!? We've had a great relationship up until the last few days. I didn't even know other people lived here. What's with the slamming doors, running children, and loud voices? You gone cray.

Dear Mat Kearney: Thank you for your tunes. I have fallen asleep with you in my headphones more nights than I can count. Thanks for reminding me to "Breathe in and breathe out".

Dear Kitty cat: I will miss your fluffy little face. And you keeping my feet warm almost every night since I was 10. I know you were sick and hurting and I'm glad that's over. I'm sure your kitty-heaven will be full of yarn balls and tuna fish. RIP, boo.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

It's Ok Thursday

Linking up again with Amber and Neely for
Its Ok Thursdays
This week "It's Ok".... be reading a children's book series at 23 years old. For real, Percy Jackson is where it's at. eat Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner so there aren't any dishes. still laugh out loud at Big Bang Theory reruns I've seen a hundred times. be wishing for fall, mainly for fall clothing. And pumpkin lattes. be *seriously* wanting to crack into the raw cookie dough in the frig before it gets baked.
Happy Thursday, blog land. We're almost there!

Weekend Loves

Here we are at another Sunday night. I thought I'd share some things I was loving this weekend.

These two eye shadows from a Profusion eyeshadow pallet I found! This baby was tucked away in my makeup drawer and I had fun playing with it. :)

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. I just used this for the first time and my hair is so happy I did.

This picture is a two-fer. First, this flowy top from Vanity Fair. So cute, and oh-so-comfy. And of course, my new hair cut! I finally got the guts to chop and eight inches later my hair feels so light and healthy. Despite the fact that in this picture it is rain-beaten and unstyled.

And I'll leave you with a little music lovin'. I'm really into this song right now and have listened to it an unnecessary amount of times this weekend.

Dear Friday

I'm going to admit that I just discovered "linking up" and I might be a little addicted. I also think that these Friday Letters are a fun idea!

Dear Preschoolers- You make me smile. (Me: What are you doing? Student: Having a juice party. Me: Oh. What kind of juice? Student: Party juice) Our school year is coming up fast. I am getting nervous and worrying that I'm not ready. But I have had so much fun getting to know you this summer and I can't wait to be your teacher!

Dear Dirty Dishes in the Sink-Yeah. I see you. Spilling on to the counter to get my attention. You are not what I want to be doing on Friday evening. You know where the soap is. Get busy.

Dear Teen Mom on MTV-Why am I so hooked on you? And how can you be ending?? I can't bear the thought of not seeing you on my DVR each week. I'm ashamed by how much I will miss those few spare moments when J is gone and I can actually sit down and watch you. He doesn't understand why I am so hung up on you, and frankly neither do I. Please don't leave. Please? I'm willing to beg.

Dear Couch- Here's the sitch. It's Friday night and it's been a long week. After I sort things out with those pesky dishes I'm fixin' to grab my PJ's and not leave your side. Except maybe for a glass of wine or two.

And to you fellow bloggers- I hope you have a wonderful weekend packed with fun...or relaxation...whichever tickles your fancy.

Miss Beauty Nail Bling

Are you as relieved as I am that Monday is over? Stress. Full. Let's get down to it.

I received these beauties from the lovely Erin in a giveaway
I'll admit to being skeptical of all of these nail stickers I've been seeing, but I was excited to give them a try.
A word of warning--my nails are in terrible shape. There are two sets of stickers to fit different nails. Unfortunately there isn't a size tailored to short-stubby-broken-picked at nails. Thankfully with a pair of cuticle scissors they were very easy to trim and fit!

The stickers are very easy to apply and not difficult to fix if you mess up (which believe you me, happened quite a bit).
The package says these will last up to 10 days; they lasted me about 4. After a couple of days the tips started to wear and the little gem-bits started to peel so I pulled them off. Hi, my name is Stephanie and I pick at my fingernails. Seriously, is there a support group?

As much as I love a good old fashioned manicure, you really can't beat slapping a sticker on and having a cute pattern without having to deal with polish and brushes! Tally these up to the "Would Buy" category.

Speaking of which, I'm not really sure where to get these. I know they were in a recent My Glam bag, but that's all I could find on them. Anybody know?

What are your thoughts on nail strips/stickers?

DIY Yoga Mat Bag

If you're into crafting, check out Pickles. They have a ton of great patterns, including the one I used for this bag!

For this bag I used Caron Worsted Weight (a one pound skein...didn't use much at all) yarn in White and Peaches & Cream (about half of the skein..more of the pink because I used it for the strap) yarn in Bright Lime and Bright Pink. For the bag itself I used an H/5 MM crochet hook and for the string I used a pair of 6 MM knitting needles.

The bag is pretty much one giant granny square, and the strap is an i cord (here is the tutorial I used). Let me tell you I am not a knitter. I started the cord Friday night thinking hoping I would have this post up by Saturday. But when I got to the point where I wanted to toss it out the window and snap the needles in half I thought I'd give it a rest. Once I got the hang of it, it did get quite a bit easier.

I'm so proud of this bag and can't wait to take it to yoga!!

E.L.F. Countouring Blush & Bronzer

I really enjoy e.l.f products, and have been loving their Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzer duo lately!

I love the neat little packaging with the nice big mirror inside!
There is quite a bit of product in the compact, which I love.
The product applies smoothly and blends very well. I love the peachy pink of the blush. The bronzer is kind of dark for me, but if I apply with a *light* hand I can avoid the mud-pie look. I thought the green finger paint from craft today was a good touch too, no? I recommend this product for sure as great quality for the price ($3)!!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Job + Wedding Photos

405 wedding photos! Don't worry; I'm not going to burden you with them all. Just this one ;)
It was a lot of fun going through all of them and remembering the day!
Today J was in a major kitchen mood. He baked two loaves of Italian bread and a chocolate cake, then surprised me with a candle light spaghetti dinner complete with champagne! What a guy.
In other news, I found out this weekend that I was accepted for a preschool teaching position that I applied for! I'm so excited to be back in the classroom and to have something to do during the day!
Tell me about your weekend.

Nails Time: Wet N' Wild Kit

I have this nail polish (I Need A Refresh-Mint) that I absolutely love. I wanted to pick up a bottle to send to a friend, because she wasn't able to find it. I found it at the Walgreens near me and had a couple colors picked out for myself.

On my way to the counter I found this:
Top Row: I Need a Refresh-Mint, On a Trip, The Wonder Yellows Middle Row: Wet Cement, Bottom Row: I Red a Good Book, FuschiaRama, Sage In the City

Eight Wet N' Wild polishes for $9.99!! Of course, the color I was looking for and the one I was going to buy are both in the package, so I couldn't pass it up.

I have done a couple of other posts on Wet N' Wild polishes, and I love them. They dry so quickly, they have so many great colors and I love the curved brush for getting my whole nail neatly. There are so many beautiful colors in this package I can't wait to try them all!
