This Weekend I decided...

...It is perfectly acceptable to have spent a Saturday watching 80's movies (including but not limited to Say Anything and The Breakfast Club) instead of doing anything productive.

...I washed the bedding and made no bake cookies, so my Saturday was not completely unproductive after all.

...I have wasted so many moments on Pinterest not browsing the Humor section.

...I want to start meal planning. We end up eating out or eating junk because we don't plan what we're going to eat. It's getting serious, guys; I downloaded an app and everything.

...Having a church pew in my dining room is cooler than I originally thought it would be when Justin brought it home. Now I need to bust out the sewing machine and learn how to use it make a cushion for it.

...This weekend went by too quickly.

What did you do this weekend?

Sunday Currently

I found this linkup on Michelle's blog and thought it was great. I'm kind of nosy and love reading about what other people are doing. I know I'm not the only one...that's why this linkup exists. Anyway, here's what I'm currently up to.

R E A D I N G I'm still at the same point in Divergent as I was when I wrote one of these posts last time. I definitely don't take as much time to read as I should. I'm also catching up on blog reading.
W R I T I N G A meal plan! Yeah!
L I S T E N I N G to Boondock Saints on tv, and Justin's commentary "Ew...oh man...Well that's gross". Consequently, I'm also currently sitting in a position where my laptop blocks my view of the television because all of the blood and violence in this movie makes my stomach feel sick. #whimp
T H I N K I N G about changing my blog name. To what? I don't know. I'm also considering shelling out the bucks for a blog design.
S M E L L I N G nothing.
W I S H I N G someone would bring me something tasty for lunch so I don't have to get up and find/cook anything.
H O P I N G I can get through all of the things I need to get done this week without losing my mind.
W E A R I N G yoga pants, a t-shirt, one pink sock, one blue sock, and slippers.
L O V I  N G the snowman blanket I'm wrapped up in.
W A N T I N G something to drink. Hot chocolate, in particular.
N E E D I N G to watch some more Breaking Bad before the last episodes come on Netflix
F E E L I N G sleepy, and cold.

What's going on with you currently??

Recapping

If you're hoping for a mushy Valentine's day recap, I'm sorry to disappoint. This is a recap of possibly the most ridiculous week ever; Valentine's day included.

It all started on Wednesday. I have a new assistant in my classroom...this was her second week. When I got back from my break Wednesday, they told me she had done something to her knee and someone else was going to come in and cover her shift while she iced for a while. I don't fully understand what happened, but she was gone the rest of the week. Edited to add: still gone.

Wednesday night I was watching television in bed, which Justin hates. He was turned on his side reading a book, and before I got up to turn off the tv, I leaned over to give him a hug. He turned at the same time and elbowed me, pretty hard, in the nose. I like to think I have a pretty fair pain tolerance. I don't remember the last time I cried from physical pain, but holy crap, tears. And blood. And tissues.

On to Thursday morning. Because my assistant was off on such short notice, I had a rotation of subststitutes in and out of my room which really threw me off, and my break/hours got switched all around. I also got a surprise visit from Aunt Flo while at work. Just. Freaking. Awesome.

So after work I had to run to Target to get some last minute Valentine's day stuff for school. We all know there's no such thing as a quick trip to Target. I had to run to Justin's school right afterward because I'm helping with costumes for their play. Naturally, I got stuck by a train. Not even a moving train. It just sat there for a good five minutes. Then when it started moving it crawled along so slowly I still wasn't sure it was moving at all. Needless to say I was a little late.

By 9:00 I figured it was time to get started on the valentines for my students, and I was up doing that for almost 2 hours because I am a perfectionist and couldn't just let them be.

Friday was not unlike any other day. We had a little card exchange and some games and treats at school, then I came home and was ready to crash. When Justin got home we cooked a delicious dinner (flank steak and BLT mashed potatoes) together and watched the Olympics until I fell asleep on the couch. Super romantic.

Saturday I ate sushi for the first time. We went with some friends for hibachi but there was a 40 minute wait so we decided to just sit at a table. I did not have the "puke-in-my-mouth" reaction that I thought I would, and despite the major mix up on our bill we will definitely go back.

It was an interesting week for sure. How was your Valentine's day?

Currently

I really like doing these posts after a blog absence so I can fill you in on what I've been up to. I also enjoy these when I have nothing else to write about. Tonight it's both. Anyway, I'm currently...

Watching: Breaking Bad. I started watching a few weeks ago and I'm freaking obsessed. Even though it's nothing like any show I would normally watch, I've been binge-watching the crap out of it.

I've also been watching Everybody Loves Raymond because I'm a big old chicken and need to watch something light and happy after Breaking Bad.

Drinking: Water. Because I just burned my mouth trying to drink tea.

Wearing: Some classy looking pajamas, that include one of Justin's old t-shirts, wool socks, and a blanket.

Thinking: This weekend, as most do, went way too quickly and I feel like I got nothing done. Also, I'm not ready for it to be Monday yet.

Smelling: A delightful Pink Grapefruit Magnolia candle that's burning on the coffee table.

Reading: An overwhelming amount of blog posts I need to catch up on. But as for an actual book, I just started Divergent

Thinking: I'm ready for bed, and it's 9:15, and that's just a little sad.
